"This was my second visit to Acciuga, and once again, it was an outstanding experience. Beatrice, the chef, personally came out to check on us — she’s so kind, genuine, and clearly passionate about her food. The linguine with prawns was generous in portion and full of flavour, and the pappardelle with ragu was beautifully made with fresh pasta. I usually cook pasta at home because I’m quite picky about it, but honestly, this was on another level. I could never make pasta this good myself! The wine selection was lovely too, and they have a great variety of deli products to take home — all top quality. The restaurant has a lovely European atmosphere, warm and welcoming every time I visit. Some people have mentioned noise in the building, but honestly, it didn’t bother me at all — it’s not the restaurant’s fault, and I really appreciate that Beatrice even mentioned they’re working on soundproofing. That level of care says a lot about how much they value their guests. I found them very open, and truly want to make every guest happy. Bravo to Beatrice and the whole team! You’re doing an amazing job. I’ll definitely be back again soon for another taste of Italy."

"a beautiful local & homey spot that i feel could easily be made incredible! me and my partner dined here on a weekend and were greeted by name and seated by the window- which was a beautiful spot to overlook the rest of the restaurant with its stunning high roof. the food was overall lovely- but not exceptional compared to other italian spots in brisbane. for the prices we can confidently say the seafood was very generously portioned and fresh and i thoroughly enjoyed the linguine in particular. we got the fresh bread with anchovies to start; however were a bit disappointed when one of the pieces of bread had a massive hole in it (the other one didn’t, so i ended up with like 1/2 a serve) and they were dripping in a bit too much excess butter. there were a few other small issues that keep this place from being 5 stars in my eyes. dishes such as the baby calamari and edamame were not served with proper utensils (like a large spoon or tongs) making it very difficult to share between us. the cutlery was okay, however some plates were just kmart plates which really took away from the dine dining feel of the place given the prices. whilst i understand it was busy, service was a bit slow and it was hard to get their attention, particularly to collect plates and order more drinks which made us hesitate to get more. the endive salad was also extraordinarily salty in some bites and plain in others and wasn’t my favourite. the acciuga spritz also just kind of tasted like syrup and was unfortunately not my favourite. overall i will definitely return to try this place again after they are a bit more established, but i am not rushing back currently and would like to see some tweaks made to really elevate and make this place something special"

"I find that our family frequents this place for birthdays and special occasions when we'd like to enjoy a delicious Italian meal. The service is excellent, the food is fantastic and the prices are quite reasonable for the quality of food. Never seems too packed out but we usually go weekdays as it's a bit quieter than weekends when she packs out. Been recommending friends to this place for a while now and everyone always comes back with two thumbs up ."

"It's been a long time since I've been to an Italian restaurant that creates such mouthwatering and generous plates as Acciuga. My friend's nephew booked the restaurant after he had met the staff of Acciuga at a nearby Sandgate venue (Blue Nose Betty) and had talked to them about the menu. Although Acciuga (Italian for "anchovy) has a strong seafood menu, they also cater to those who prefer land-based ingredients, and I was told the chef explores vegan options as well We arrived on a Saturday night for a 6.45pm booking, and the restaurant was already near full. There are a couple of tables out on the street. I was very happy for the inside table in the air conditioning on a humid and quite warm evening. It's simple decor of white and blue with wooden tables and chairs (directors chairs in some settings), and it's enormous candelabra high up make for a beautiful setting. Be prepared to talk a little louder to your fellow diners to be heard over the din, as the high ceilings do little to dim the acoustics. And now, to the deliciousness! Not being a wine drinker, I chose the Hibiscus Blossom mocktail (Hibiscus, OJ, ginger ale), which was sweet and fruity, just what I like. My friend an OJ, and her nephew had Acciuga Spritz, which he enjoyed, prior to a glass of granache with his meal. We started simply with the house made bread and butter. Not being a daily bread eater, I would definitely eat more bread if all bread tasted like this! Airy and light with an excellent crust and butter to die for. To the Mains: my friend had the Pappardelle (Ox Tail Ragu, Pecorino), her nephew had the Tofu (Split Peas Tofu, Eggplant, Garlic and Basil Sauce, Premium Tomato), and I had the Linguine (King Prawns, Moreton Bay bug, Bisque, Bagna Cauda). We followed this with the Indivia (Endive, EVOO & Orange dressing, shaved Pecorino). All of us enjoyed our meals immensely. The pasta was cooked al dente and carried the flavours perfectly. The Ox Tail ragu was hearty and rich as it should be, the Tofu was excellent, the tomato tasting as if it were home grown, and my seafood was cooked to perfection and extremely generous - the Bisque was to die for. The curly endive and Pecorino was refreshing. The plates provided large, homely portions that left just enough room for one of the "secret" desserts. My friend had the Nonna-inspired lemon torte, which appeared to have an almost custard-like centre within an excellent crumb, whilst her nephew had the dark chocolate and coconut cremoso (which was GF, DF, V) - a generous quinelle of ganache flanked by home-made orange biscuits that he paired with a glass of Vino E Visciole. I had the Oregano and Lime panna cotta with strawberry coulis. I have had MANY panna cottas in my time, but this was a game changer. When it came out in the ramekin, all you saw was the coulis, topped with half a strawberry. I plunged my spoon in to find the most amazing texture and aroma and, most importantly, a new taste sensation! I have had basil panna cotta before, and have found it overpowering and too savoury. But the oregano lime pairing was a standout winner. I found the oregano, lime and strawberry enhanced each other, none overpowering the other, with just the right amount of sweetness. I found myself using my finger to get every last bit out of the ramekin... I did apologise to my fellow diners, but they understood, and I was forgiven. Throughout the meal, the service was prompt and friendly. Our dining party was surprised at the speed of the meals from the pass based on the large number of diners on the night. The kitchen appears to be a well-oiled machine, along with the large number of wait-staff working efficiently to serve their customers. To say we enjoyed our meals is an understatement. I will be back with more friends and family so that they, too, can enjoy what this humble establishment has to offer. (The 4 stars for the atmosphere are only due to the acoustics... it was a relief to the ears to walk through the doors out on the street, and the diners outside said as much regarding their choice of table)"

"Mama would be proud... This is a nice little Italian restaurant with a clean, simple and homely atmosphere, good food, and outstanding service. The moment we arrived, we were welcomed by happy staff with a warm, friendly smile and a great sense of humour that continued right until the moment we left. I started with Anchovies on Home Made Buttered Toast, and followed with the Linguine for my main course, which was rich with King Prawns and half a Moreton Bay Bug along with enough pasta for the hungriest of diners, all washed down with a lightly spicy Ginger Beer and tasty Coffee. There's good food, wonderful service, and even great coffee at Acciuga Restaurant. You won't be disappointed. Enjoy"

"An Unforgettable Italian Feast – A Culinary Standout! Hands down, one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time! From the very first bite of the sourdough with anchovy —oh man, DELISH!—we knew we were in for something special. The starter was simple yet sensational, with the perfect balance of saltiness and crunch that had us fighting over the last piece. I followed with the risotto, and let me tell you… it was perfection. Creamy, rich, and full of depth—easily the best risotto I've ever had. If it were socially acceptable, I would have licked the plate clean. My husband chose the linguine, and the subtle groans of delight coming from across the table said it all. Every mouthful seemed to bring him closer to pasta nirvana. Incredible food, warm atmosphere, and authentic flavours that linger long after the last bite. Not to forget the amazing staff - thank you all for making our night unforgettable. We can’t wait to come back!"

"We had lunch at the Italian restaurant Acciuga with my boyfriend, and I absolutely recommend this place! I’ve eaten at many Italian restaurants, but this one stands out for its incredibly delicious cuisine. Everything was perfect: the sauce, the homemade bread, the tender cooking of the octopus and salmon, as well as the spaghetti with fish sauce and shrimp, which were simply delightful. The desserts were also exceptional. The setting is charming, reminiscent of a boat with blue and white colors, perfect for a cozy meal with family or as a couple. We were warmly welcomed by the couple who run the restaurant—adorable and attentive hosts who take the time to explain each dish made with fresh ingredients. If you’re visiting Sandgate, Acciuga is THE restaurant you must stop by, even if it means a little detour near Brisbane. A truly memorable culinary experience! We will gladly come back to enjoy this wonderful restaurant again!"

"Whilst we’d like to keep Acciuga a local secret, it would not do justice to this amazing restaurant and team to not share this place. We eat here regularly and have done since they opened. We also recommend you try the deli which is open during the day!! From amazing breads to quality Italian cuisine and Deli items. I can’t speak highly enough of the chef owners of Acciuga , Beatrice and Diego - they consistently provide excellent quality food and service. The menu changes according to quality produce in season and Beatrice’s creativity. Regardless of how busy they are, Beatrice always comes out to check in with customers, new and old. The service team, are attentive and friendly. We have dined here for lunches and dinners, including several of the monthly creative dinner. I have dined here as a couple and in groups and been thoroughly impressed every time. This is quality food, Italian style in a friendly atmosphere. Fine dining sans the stuffiness. Thank you Bea and Diego for the delicious food and beautiful energy you have brought to our community. Gemma"
